Look at these three lovely ladies- aren’t they just too dang pretty and cute??! :D
From left to right: Ma, Rachel and Sammi Rae… Despite the unfortunate circumstances, it was SO good to see everyone and I already miss them dearly. :(

“This is about Internet freedom. “Network Neutrality” — the First Amendment of the Internet — ensures that the public can view the smallest blog just as easily as the largest corporate Web site by preventing Internet companies like AT&T from rigging the playing field for only the highest-paying sites.
But Internet providers like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are spending millions of dollars lobbying Congress to gut Net Neutrality. If Congress doesn’t take action now to implement meaningful Net Neutrality provisions, the future of the Internet is at risk.”
Alright people! Your freedom of information access is at risk… visit the following link to see what you can do. We proved in 2006 that our calls and emails really DO make a difference!! We can’t stop now!

Pop Whores…
Posted by Stacey on Saturday Feb 24, 2007 Under MusicRachel and Glenn have satellite cable so I was treated to a morning of Vh1 videos on Friday. I had no idea that those music channels still played videos- I thought they only did ‘Real Worlds’ and ‘I Heart the 80s’ and Hulk Hogan & Ozzy Osborne reality tv shows…
Anyway, I was surprised to see Sean Hatosy in the following video. He was such a cutie in “Outside Providence.” I guess he and Justin are going to be in a movie together soon. I kinda like this tune, it’s growing on me…
Let’s see how long this one lasts… (02/26/2007)
At lunch, I was browsing through my backlog of BoingBoing posts and ran across this video that cracked me up. Def. not as cool as Apt. for Six Drummers, but still quite entertaining & funny…
This weekend, Tim and I drove up to the Union County Riding Club (near Lake Butler) to watch our friend Buffy compete in a Barrel Racing Competition. It turned out to be a REALLY fun night. There were guys and gals of all ages and skill levels competing. Buffy has an amazing horse named Stanley who is a real sweetheart. He follows her around, off-lead, like a big dog. Kids were climbing all over him and he didn’t even bat an eye. :) When it was time for them to race, Buffy and Stanley were fantastic- you could tell they’d been a team for a very long time.
It was such a cool hang- everyone walked around anD chatted with one another. Buffy, of course, knew absolutely everyone there, so she stopped every coupla steps to say a few words to each person she passed. Kids of all ages were riding horses around the perimiter of the complex. We even saw a THREE-year old riding a horse all by herself- the two of them just plodded on past us as we watched. :)
It was in the mid-30s that night so my poor husband (who is the the polar-opposite of myself- lacking any kind of bodily insulation) ’bout froze his little tookus off and ended up spending alot of time standing by one of the fire-barrels trying to stay warm. He was such a good sport- I was having such a wonderful time that he stayed alot longer than he normally would’ve. :)
An excellent “date-night” event= cheap (free) and fun. ;)
Just a stock photo from the net. I’ll be sure to bring my camera next time- these events are ripe with photo ops. :)
It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO effen good to hang with Jules and Bu tonight! We miss those two frooty lil’ freaks! :D

I think it’s almost time to start a bonfire with the old particle-board unit that we bought from Target back in 1992!! haha- it was the first piece of furniture that Tim and I bought together. This would be sooooo much nicer tho…. ;)
A Beautiful Life…
Posted by Stacey on Monday Feb 5, 2007 Under FriendsThat was the title of the email Julie sent me this morning. Tim and I were so completely shocked and saddened to find that this weekend, Jed Shapiro had left us all behind. A big, teddy-bear of a guy, Jed had a great sense of humor & a wonderfully deep, gravelly voice & laugh- complete with twinkly blue-gray eyes and michevious grin. I never know the right thing to say so I’ll share what Julie emailed us this morning, as she says it better than I can…
Hi Everyone…
The world suffered a great loss this weekend when Jedidiah Montana Shapiro left this earth. He was a beautiful man with whom I shared many years of laughter and tears. I hope you will all pray for his safe journey into everlasting peace. There will be a funeral on Wednesday Feb.7th 1:00pm at William Thomas Funeral Home (Main Street) in Gainesville, Florida.
Our dog, Buju, was with him when he left this world and I am so thankful for that. He is survived by a loving family and many many friends.
I am so so sad that his life ended so early. He was one of the kindest and most gentle men to have walked this earth and I am honored to have walked with him.
Peace-
Julie

Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the United States, please pay attention. ~Molly Ivins
Last night was such a bummer- we checked email and news right before bedtime and saw that we lost yet another bright light in this world. I’d always hoped that I would run into Molly when we lived in Texas. Her writing never failed to entertain and enlighten and she’s been at the top of my list of ‘red-headed heroines’ since 1995, when I read one of her editorials for the first time. She certainly wasn’t afraid to let people know what was on her mind! This brilliant, STRONG, powerful, fearless woman was an incredible role-model with a wicked sense of humor. Cancer sucks.
