This morning I ran across a video of Aaron that Janelle had sent me awhile ago. It’s really cool and I wish we coulda been there that night! Crowd sounds pumped too…

Even MORE exciting news!!! Tim will soon be teaching drum lessons at a new music academy in Gainesville called Great Southern Music!!! They have a GORGEOUS new facility with individual studios for private lessons and a larger room for group study and recitals. There is a very comfortable waiting room for parents to hang out while waiting on their kids and the entire space is very warm and inviting. The owners are wonderful people- so very nice and when you meet them it’s so obvious how much they care about the music! Gainesville is about to gain a VERY amazing resource! We’re both excited for him to begin teaching there!! Open House is on August 11, 2007. Keep an eye on their website for updates and more information: http://www.greatsouthernmusic.net

I really like this song by Apes and Androids. I wrote the band and asked them where I could get their album and they said they don’t have one yet but maybe in the fall. Darn! I hope they hurry up- more songs would make this hot summer more cool… heh. The video is pretty fun too. I’m really liking some of these new lip synch vids hitting the tubes these days.

I am in debt to Gary Shipes for the rest of my life. He introduced me to Hal Hartley’s work back in the early 90s and to this day, Simple Men is, hands down, my all-time favorite film, ever. I love all of Hartley’s work but this one still stands above all. When Gary handed me that glorious dubbed copy, labeled ever so neatly in his flawless, block handwriting, he told me that this would be a film by which I would judge all future films… he was absolutely correct.
I lost contact with Gary after Tim and I moved to Texas and became tangled up in life & school. If you ever run into him, please tell him “Thank You” for me- his suggestions in film and music changed my life…my perceptions of all forms of art altered forever…in a very, very good way. :)

Y’all know how I love the whole human beatbox thing so when this link came thru on BoingBoing at lunch- it totally made my day. After his performance, if you skip past the panel comments to the very end, there is a quick clip of him doing the beginning of a song by Eve.

Well, one arm of the gang is reuniting to attend THE POLICE concert in Dallas!! (**We’re all goin’ to Dallas! We’re all goin’ to Dallas** – Joel C. that one was for you!) Yep, we’ll be going back to Texass with Rach, Glenn, Wes, and Court to attend the concert with Aaron and Janelle. We even managed to get seats together in the same section, albeit three rows apart. We decided it would be best to bite the bullet and go see them on the first part of the tour in case they break-up halfway through all the scheduled dates. The tension is already apparent during the most recent interviews. ugh. Fingers crossed here for a successful event! :D

Rachel and Glenn have satellite cable so I was treated to a morning of Vh1 videos on Friday. I had no idea that those music channels still played videos- I thought they only did ‘Real Worlds’ and ‘I Heart the 80s’ and Hulk Hogan & Ozzy Osborne reality tv shows…
Anyway, I was surprised to see Sean Hatosy in the following video. He was such a cutie in “Outside Providence.” I guess he and Justin are going to be in a movie together soon. I kinda like this tune, it’s growing on me…
These aren't adverts, they're links to articles from blogs that I read regularly. If they're here, it's because I found them entertaining enough to share with you! :) Enjoy!!
